Aleix Espargaro is a contender for the MotoGP title. The Grand Prix of Catalunya gave a lot of chances for the 32-year-old rider - because the home track he knows until the last segment.

Everything was going very well, with Aleix battling for the podium until the last one. Here it is, the cherished finish line that would bring him closer to the leader of the overall standings.

Bingo! Espargaro was happy and began to celebrate. And then realized there was one more lap left in the race.

The celebration quickly turned to tragedy. The rider frantically tried to hold his position but it was too late - he only finished fifth. And now the gap from the leader is not 8 points (as before the race) but 22.

Further - hysterics. The 32-year-old man was sobbing in the pits, huddled in a corner. They tried to cheer him up, but Aleish was inconsolable. All he could do afterwards was apologize for being so inattentive.
