Kayleigh’s Stellar Track Record
Before making her commitment to UConn, Heckel had an impressive season at USC, playing 34 games and making seven starts. Known for her quick pace and impactful plays, she averaged 6.1 points per game, alongside being third on the Trojans team with a significant number of steals. Her talents were instrumental in helping USC clinch the 2024-25 Big Ten regular season title.
Beyond College: An International Asset
Internationally, Heckel’s skills shone as she represented the USA at the 2024 FIBA U18 AmeriCup. Her performance was pivotal to securing the gold medal, with her exemplary stats earning her a spot on the U18 AmeriCup All-Tournament Second Team.

Heckel isn’t the only new face at UConn; she joins other fresh talents such as transfer Serah Williams, and freshmen Kelis Fisher, Gandy Malou-Mamel, and Blanca Quiñonez.
