Scott Burt, 48, brings a robust portfolio of experience to Greensboro, boasting over 13 years in coaching roles. Before taking up this significant role, Burt demonstrated his leadership capabilities as Head Coach and General Manager of the Rapid City Rush, where he compiled an impressive record of 130 career coaching wins.
Joe Ernst, the VP of Hockey Operations at Zawyer Sports, shared his optimistic outlook: “Scott brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the league, which will be a valuable asset for a first-year team. According to ECHL, he has proven himself as both a player and coach in this league.”

Before stepping into the coaching arena, Burt had a successful career as a player, showcasing his skills in 586 ECHL games across teams like the Toledo Storm, Idaho Steelheads, Utah Grizzlies, and Alaska Aces. His accolades include three Kelly Cup championships, acknowledging him as a formidable presence in both playing and strategizing the game of hockey.
