Samuel Braun Joins Charlotte's Elite Tennis Squad for Spring Season
With an air of excitement and anticipation, Charlotte Men’s Tennis team welcomes a new star, Samuel Braun, to its roster as they prepare for the upcoming spring dual-match season. Hailing from Friedberg, Germany, Braun’s journey from junior leagues to a promising collegiate career is set to captivate the tennis world.
A Promising Start
Braun is no stranger to high-stake competitions. His impressive junior résumé includes runner-up placements at the 2023 Bavarian State Championship (U16) and the German Championship (U16). In 2024, he continued to showcase his prowess by securing a third-place finish at the German Championship (U18), all while contributing to Bavaria’s triumph in the 2023 German team title. His ambition and talent have now caught the eye of Charlotte’s tennis program, recently ranked No. 2 among mid-major recruiting by Tennis Recruiting Network.
Coach’s Vision
“We’re excited to add a player like Samuel for the spring season,” said head coach Kyle Bailey. Braun’s addition is expected to bring another layer of competitiveness to an already accomplished team. “It’s a talented group, and he’ll add to that after really standing out in Germany.” According to Charlotte Athletics, his potential could seamlessly integrate with the team’s dynamics, offering fresh strategies against formidable opponents.
Looking Ahead
With Braun joining the 49ers in January, the team aims to elevate their game further and make a significant impact in the competitive collegiate tennis landscape. His presence is set to inspire not just his teammates but aspiring athletes who see him as a beacon of international excellence.

Charlotte Men’s Tennis has been making waves, consistently enhancing their team with skillful recruits. Such initiatives are reflective of the commitment to build a winning legacy, fostering not just athletic prowess but a spirit of determination and excellence.
