The 38-year-old Portuguese scored a double in a 4-0 win over Liechtenstein in the Euro 2024 qualifiers. His second goal, scored from the penalty spot, allowed him to become the first footballer to score a hundred goals in official games at the international level.

Cristiano also set a world record for matches at the national team level. This is Ronaldo's 197th match for the national team. He beat Bader Al-Mutwa of Kuwait.

It should be noted that the International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) considers the Malaysian Son Chin Ann (219 games) to be the owner of the achievement. He played 24 games that are not officially counted.
