Real Madrid’s Manager Ancelotti Confirms Goalkeeper Rotation: Lunin to Play in One of the Final Two La Liga Games, Courtois in the Other
Real Madrid's head coach, Carlo Ancelotti, has announced his plans for the goalkeeper lineup in the upcoming La Liga matches. In a strategic move, Ancelotti has decided to rotate his goalkeepers, giving both Andriy Lunin and Thibaut Courtois playing time as the season approaches its conclusion.
“Courtois performed exceptionally well against Alaves and is showing great progress, just like Militao. We are confident that by June 1, we will be in top condition,” Ancelotti expressed. His strategy reflects a balance between maintaining team form and preparing for the Champions League final, which is just two weeks away.
The coach emphasized the team’s current state, noting, “The team is motivated, focused, and in good shape. It's important to rest this week and prepare well for the Champions League final."
With two remaining La Liga games, Ancelotti made it clear that each goalkeeper will have a chance to contribute. “The situation is clear. I need to give Lunin some minutes. Lunin will play in one game, and Courtois in the other,” Ancelotti shared, outlining his plan to manage his squad effectively while ensuring both goalkeepers are match-ready.
This decision underlines Ancelotti’s approach to team management and player readiness, especially with critical matches on the horizon. The choice to rotate goalkeepers also reflects a tactical adaptation to the team’s needs and the physical demands placed on players at this crucial stage of the season.
