The 37-year-old striker shared his reaction to the loss to the Moroccans on Instagram.

"To win the World Cup with Portugal was my biggest and most ambitious dream. But the dream came to an end. I fought for my dream, I played five World Cups and I gave my all in those matches.

I never gave up, I was always with the great players, we were supported by millions of Portuguese people. Unfortunately, the dream has come to an end," Cristiano wrote on social media.

Ronaldo also added that he has always been most committed to the Portuguese team, always fought for a common goal, never turned his back on the team and the country.

Finally, the footballer thanked his countrymen and Qatar for hosting the World Cup. Cristiano said that the dream was beautiful as long as it lasted.
