At 6-foot-2, she is a formidable presence, and witnessing her catapult a volleyball with immense force is nothing short of mesmerizing. Yet, despite her prowess on the volleyball court, Lusk’s future lies within the realm of basketball, having committed to play for Gonzaga University.

The Pocatello Thunder began their volleyball season on a strong note, participating in the challenging Peg Peterson Tournament where Lusk’s leadership shone. The young team, guided by their star player, finished with a 5-2 record and later dominated in back-to-back victories against tough rivals, including the reigning 5A state champion Twin Falls Bruins. Lusk’s performance, racking up 35 kills in two matches, demonstrated her determination to lead her team towards new victories.

Amidst the high-pressure games, Lusk emphasizes playing for the love of the sport. Her leadership is instrumental in maintaining team morale, especially when younger players are learning the ropes. “It feels really good to just get up there and swing,” she says, highlighting the joy she and her teammates share on the court.

Throughout her high school career, Lusk has been a force of nature in Idaho’s volleyball scene, earning All-State honors multiple times. However, her eyes are set on a different court. Despite opportunities in volleyball, Lusk has chosen to pursue basketball at Gonzaga University, stating, “Basketball is my calling,” as reported by East Idaho News.
