Is FIFA abandoning the 2026 World Cup format with three teams in a group?
According to the BBC, FIFA may soon abandon the reform of the group stage of the 2026 World Cup. The leaders are currently hesitating because of the way the tournament went in Qatar, when there were many decisive and exciting matches in the third round 🙄
If FIFA returns to the format of 4 teams in one group, the number of games will increase from 80 to 104 due to the expansion of the World Cup to 48 participants. We are waiting for the decision on March 16.
