Dane White canceled the press conference before UFC 279 at the last moment. All because of a scuffle between Chimaev and Diaz teams.

The event was canceled because of safety concerns. This has never happened before in league history.

White says there were almost 100 people involved in the incident.

What I didn't want to do was have all these guys come out together. There were 57 people in Diaz's camp. Hamzat's team had 30-something people. It was crazy.

Insider Brett Okamoto explained what started it all:

First there was an altercation between Chimaev and Holland. It was settled. But when the UFC was about to bring Hamzat and Nate to the stage, someone on Nate's team threw something at Hamzat. And after that, the decision was made to cancel the conference.

The plan is to have a bunch of security at the UFC 279 event itself
