A New Challenge Begins

BOISE, Idaho – The Boise State men’s tennis team is ready to face a challenging yet exciting 2026 spring season, guided by head coach Luke Shields. Known for their formidable performance, the reigning Mountain West regular-season champions have unveiled an ambitious schedule that promises thrilling matches both at home and on the road.

Hosting the Nation’s Best

The Broncos will be playing 15 home matches throughout their season, showcasing their skills at the BOAS Indoor Tennis Center and Appleton Tennis Center. A highlight will be their match against Princeton, who concluded the 2025 season ranked No. 35. This showdown is set for January 17th at 3 p.m. Mountain Time. According to Boise State University Athletics, these games give the Broncos a valuable opportunity to solidify their standing nationally.

On the Road to National Glory

Kicking off the season, the team will compete in Arizona’s Hidden Duals, with their eyes on the ITA National Team Indoor Championships. They are slated to confront Georgia, formerly ranked No. 27, at the ITA Kickoff Weekend. The path there is challenging, but victories could earn the Broncos a spot in February’s esteemed championships in Dallas or Waco, Texas.

February Feats and Tournament Trials

February brings a string of home opportunities against George Fox, Idaho, Linfield, and others. Should the team qualify, their skills will be tested further at the prestigious ITA National Team Indoor Championships. If not, they will instead face Wichita State and Denver, before traveling back to Arizona.

March Madness and Beyond

As spring flourishes, March kicks off with the Boise State Spring Invitational. Here, the Broncos will welcome teams like BYU and Gonzaga in what promises to be intense matches. The home stretch leads into key conference play against Nevada and UC Irvine, while spirited road matches include face-offs with Air Force and New Mexico.

Wrapping Up and Looking Ahead

April will see the Broncos hosting matches against San Diego State, with the season concluding against UNLV. Approaching the Mountain West Championship in Las Vegas, the team is focused on pushing through the season to compete at the NCAA Championships, potentially in Athens, Georgia, come May.

As Boise State’s athletes channel their determination and sportsmanship throughout the 2026 spring season, fans are in for an exciting ride filled with unforeseen triumphs and memorable matches.
