ATP rankings. Djokovic returns to the top spot, setting a new record
The winner of the Australian Open, Novak Djokovic, returns to the top of the world rankings and begins his 374th week as the world tennis leader, which is a record for the ATP Tour. The 35-year-old Serbian tennis player, who was ranked fifth before the start of the tournament, made the biggest jump to the top in the history of the men's tour. Previously, four players managed to rise to the top from the fourth position: Carlos Moya, Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi and Carlos Alcaraz.
Australian Open finalist Stefanos Tsitsipas moved up one spot to third place. Rafael Nadal, who failed to defend his Australian title, dropped to sixth position (-4), while last year's finalist Daniil Medvedev left the top 10 and is ranked 12th (-4).
