Competitions that have food are too cool to miss. So thought Joey Chestnut, who came to the tournament on crutches with a ruptured tendon.

But nothing could break a champion's character. And optimistically Joey told reporters: "It's not a problem for me, I do not chew with my legs.

And there was nothing wrong with Chestnut's mouth or stomach. He swallowed as many as 63 hot dogs at a time.

Such stamina would be the envy of any professional athlete.
