According to AS, following the sale of Alvaro Morata, Atletico has made Dovbyk their top target for the forward position and is prepared to offer Girona a fixed 30 million euros plus an additional 5 million in potential bonuses. Journalist Matteo Moretto from Relevo notes that the clubs are "close to an agreement."

Previously, Girona was unwilling to let Dovbyk go for less than 40 million euros. In the race for Dovbyk, Atletico has outpaced West Ham and Roma.
